The Museo de la Cárcova located in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, belongs to the National University of the Arts. In its quality of an University Museum, La Cárcova has a double function/mission: On one side the preservation, study and the dissemination of its material patrimony, consisting in a collection of sculptural calques that in a pedagogical approach it gives account of the different cultures in history from antiquity to our days. On the other side, belonging to the National University of the Arts, it is also a laboratory of artistic experimentation with the capacity to host all the different languages that integrate the University.
With the axle on research and education, the museum invites to inhabit its physical and virtual spaces. With the coming of the pandemic, it has broaden its relationship with the public beyond the permanent and temporary collections and has continued producing educational and interchangeable content on a visual manner through its social media. It has adapted and became an online museum, assuming the commitment of staying connected and offering new social opportunities to the community.
